Time for another Sunday drive! An easy run over the Blue Mountains on Sunday, meeting at Capertee in the morning. You may like to make a weekend of it and stay in Lithgow, or if bringing a camper trailer or van, stay in the area behind the Capertee Royal Hotel for free (if you eat a meal at the pub) on the Saturday night.

From Capertee we’ll go down to the Turon Diggings for some fording action and morning tea. Then we’ll backtrack a few kilometres for a pleasant drive through Turon Gates and along the Turon River, where we’ll stop for a river-side lunch. After lunch, we’ll turn the scenery up a few notches with more fording as we cross the Turon River several times and enjoy spectacular valley views as we drive Razorback Road to the Castlereagh Highway, and back to Capertee for afternoon tea and trip’s end.

This is a nice Sunday drive suitable for all vehicles and the whole family. The pets will need to be left at home though as we will be in a National Park.

Contact Greg for details and to register for the trip.

Note – Relatively easy trip with recovery most unlikely. Suitable for new members, Discovery Sport, Evoque and Freelander vehicles. Some steep descents and climbs, and some scrabbly fords
