SUMMARY:Winter in Queensland
DESCRIPTION:This a trip designed to give participants some escape from the rigours of the Sydney winter and experience some of what Fraser/K’gari island has to offer. \nWe would take a fairly leisurely drive north stopping at Barrington Tops National Park and Bald Rock National Park. Weekdays spent on Fraser/K’gar island avoid weekend visitors and occur just prior to the commencement of the Taylor fishing season. \nThe trip will conclude with a visit to the Kroombit Tops National Park before a return\, 21 days after its commencement\, to a\, hopefully\, slightly warmer Sydney. \nSuitable for 4 wheel drive vehicles\, tents\,  camper trailers and some caravans. Participants would need to book their own accommodation on the days selected in the itinerary (email Ralph for a copy). Pets are not permitted \nPlease contact Ralph Chandler by email if interested.

DESCRIPTION:Join us at various locations around Greater Sydney for morning tea and perhaps lunch. \nThis month Greg has organised a guided site tour of ANSTO (Australia’s Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation) at Lucas Heights. ANSTO is home to some of Australia’s most significant research facilities\, and thousands of scientists from industry and universities use its instruments every year. \nThe tour begins at 10:30 am sharp\, so please organise to be at ANSTO by 10 am where we will meet at the carpark. The tour costs $15 and will run for two hours\, after which we’ll have lunch at the ANSTO café before heading home. \nPlease note there are conditions of entry – you’ll need photo ID\, and any electronic devices capable of recording must be declared\, as photography or filming isn’t permitted on site. DESCRIPTION:This month we are holding out meeting at the Care Flight Helicopter Base\nCome and hear all the latest Land Rover and Club news at our monthly Club General meeting. \nArrive by 6:30pm for a sausage sizzle and to view the Care Flight helicopter base. Please bring your own chair. \nGuests are welcome. \nParking\nEither utilise the free street parking surrounding CareFlight Headquarters at the corner of Redbank Rd and Barden St\, or paid parking at Westmead Hospital. P7 us recommended\, which is a 5-minute walk to CareFlight Headquarters. \nThere are additional public carparks on hospital grounds\, but they are further from base. \nPlease note: Whilst P21 is marked as ‘Visitor Parking\,’ this carpark is reserved for hospital staff. \nCareFlight’s Rapid Response Base is located at 16 Redbank Lane\, Westmead. As you approach our facility\, you will need to pass through boom gates. Simply press the buzzer and inform the operator you are visiting CareFlight.

If you choose the See It All ticket\, some vessels require climbing up and down steps\, getting into tight spaces where you need to crouch down\, so just to be aware if you have any mobility issues.\nNo need to let Greg know in advance this month. SUMMARY:Ladies in Landy's Weekend
DESCRIPTION:This Ladies in Landy’s Weekend is being hosted by Nadine from the Land Rover Owners Club @forestvale.farm or @wood.family.landys) and we have been made to feel very welcome to join the weekend. \nNadine says the weekend is to encourage the ladies to get behind the wheel\, especially those new to four-wheel driving\, but everyone is ultimately invited as the more the merrier\, right?! The vibe of the weekend is friendship\, appreciating each other’s beautiful Land Rovers\, and enjoying easy bitumen and dirt roads through the countryside with a few river crossings and steep bits thrown in. Therefore your vehicle must be appropriately prepared. \nWiarborough valley is located in the south of the Blue Mountains in NSW\, with our base camp for the weekend being Forestvale Farm\, our beautiful rural property with views for miles. The plan is to meet on Friday evening\, think sunset drinks on Picnic Hill finishing with dinner around\na campfire by the old shearing shed. Saturday morning we head out for coffee and fresh croissants from the Argyle Inn in Taralga before heading east through Bannaby and Swallowtail Pass Fire Trail to enjoy a Boot Picnic at Land Rover Heaven near Marulan\, kindly hosted by Dave and Janelle. \nThe return journey will take us along back country gravel roads north of Goulburn to the farm. Settle in for a chilled Saturday evening (think: Backgammon\, port\, perhaps poetry and plonk) before a Sunday adventure into the southern Blue Mountains (possibly Yerranderie\, or Mt Werong with a walk to Ruby Creek Lookout). The route and destination will depend upon road and weather conditions\, and whether guests need to return to Sydney (via Oberon)\, or return for a third night at Forestvale Farm. \nMy motivation for this trip was to see more women in their Land Rovers\, so grab your boyfriend\, hubby or bestie and come join us. The itinerary has been prepared so you can come for some or all of the trip. \nFacilities on the farm include a toilet\, but you will need to bring all your own food\, water and camping gear. Our valley is beautiful but can throw up four seasons in one day. \nPlease contact Nadine to express your interest in joining this trip and to make your booking.

It does cost $12 to enter Bobbin Head if you don’t have a pass.\nWe can also have a look at the millions of dollars worth of boats that never seem to move.\nNo need to let Greg know in advance this month.
