ANSTO is home to some of Australia’s most significant research facilities\, and thousands of scientists from industry and universities use its instruments every year. \nThe tour begins at 10:30 am sharp\, so please organise to be at ANSTO by 10 am where we will meet at the carpark. The tour costs $15 and will run for two hours\, after which we’ll have lunch at the ANSTO café before heading home. \nPlease note there are conditions of entry – you’ll need photo ID\, and any electronic devices capable of recording must be declared\, as photography or filming isn’t permitted on site. SUMMARY:2023 Historic Land Rover Social Weekend
DESCRIPTION:Patrick and Margaret Sutcliffe are inviting all owners\, and those with a passion for\, leaf-sprung Land Rovers\, Defenders\, Discovery 1s and 2s and Classic Range Rovers\, to join them in a weekend of activities based on their property\, Paxina. \nThe property has good bush camping and is about 44 kilometres north of Lithgow.  Two bush toilets are provided\, and there is a shower shed (bring your own shower and water).  Access to the site is possible for camper trailers towed by a proper 4WD (i.e.\, with low ratio and high clearance)\, but NOT caravans. Wood for campfires is available.  Dogs are welcome\, as long as they are kept under control and poo picked up. \nDetails of how to get there will be provided on booking.  People are welcome to arrive at the property any time after lunch on the Friday. \nFuel and Basic Supplies are available from the store at Capertee\, about 14 kilometres away. \nPeople are welcome to arrive at the property any time after lunch on the Friday. \nActivities \n\nFriday will be spent settling into the campsite\, viewing the vehicles\, counting rivets\, and peering under bonnets. There will also be a SWAP MEET\, so bring along any bits and pieces that you want to get rid of.  These activities are expected to continue throughout the weekend!\nOn Saturday a trip along the Turon River will be run\, stopping for lunch on the riverbank\, before returning to camp\, where a Land Rover quiz will be held\nOver the entire weekend there will also be an “identify the mystery parts” competition.  Prizes will be awarded.\nA short trip will be taken on Sunday morning\, through the spectacular Capertee Valley\, on tracks on Paxina and a neighbour’s property\nIn the evenings\, many tall tales will be told around the campfire (subject to fire restrictions).\n\nA short trip will be taken on Sunday morning\, through the spectacular Capertee Valley. DESCRIPTION:Ted and Anne Rayment are resurrecting their annual Camp Oven Cookout after a two year break due to Covid. Bring along your camp oven and contents and table and chairs – and don’t forget a spoon and bowl for Anne’s apple crumble for dessert. This is a social event and a good chance to show off your culinary skills\, have a chat with fellow members and sit around the fire afterwards. \nIf you haven’t used a camp oven before\, don’t worry. There will be plenty of experts ready and willing to help you. If you don’t have a camp oven then someone may have a spare if you get in quickly. \nFrom midday to whenever you feel you must leave.

SUMMARY:Historic Land Rover Social Weekend
DESCRIPTION:Patrick and Margaret Sutcliffe are inviting all owners\, and those with a passion for\, leaf-sprung Land Rovers\, Defenders\, Discovery 1s and 2s and Classic Range Rovers\, to join them in a weekend of activities based on their property\, Paxina. \nThe property has good bush camping and is about 44 kilometres north of Lithgow.  Two bush toilets are provided\, and there is a shower shed (bring your own shower and water).  Access to the site is possible for camper trailers towed by a proper 4WD (i.e.\, with low ratio and high clearance)\, but NOT caravans. Wood for campfires is available.  Dogs are welcome\, as long as they are kept under control and poo picked up. \nDetails of how to get there will be provided on booking.  People are welcome to arrive at the property any time after lunch on the Friday. \nFuel and Basic Supplies are available from the store at Capertee\, about 14 kilometres away. \nActivities \n\nFriday will be spent settling into the campsite\, viewing the vehicles\, counting rivets\, and peering under bonnets. These activities are expected to continue throughout the weekend!\nOn Saturday a trip along the Turon River will be run\, stopping for lunch on the riverbank\, before returning to camp\, where a Land Rover quiz will be held.\nOver the entire weekend there will also be an “identify the mystery parts” competition.  Prizes will be awarded.\nA short trip will be taken on Sunday morning\, through the spectacular Capertee Valley\, on tracks on Paxina and a neighbour’s property.\nIn the evenings\, many tall tales will be told around the campfire (subject to fire restrictions).\n\nA short trip will be taken on Sunday morning\, through the spectacular Capertee Valley.
